Turkey Rises Two Spots in Global Greenhouse Gas Emission Rankings
According to 2025 global data, Turkey increased its emissions and ranked 14th among countries with the highest greenhouse gas emissions.
According to the published 2025 global greenhouse gas emissions data, Turkey increased its emission rate by 4.16 percent, rising two spots in the worldwide ranking to become the 14th country causing the most emissions.
Global Emission Data and Increase Rates
According to the report prepared on 2025 global greenhouse gas emissions, emissions decreased in 62 countries worldwide last year, while an increase was recorded in 146 countries. Based on calculations excluding land use, global emissions showed an increase of 0.7 percent.
Turkey's Ranking and Emission Share
Turkey increased its emissions by 4.16 percent, leaving Australia and Vietnam behind to become the 14th country causing the most emissions. The country's share in global emissions was recorded at 1.13 percent.
Other Countries with the Highest Emission Increases
The USA became the country that increased its emissions the most in absolute terms, followed by Indonesia. China's emission increase remained at a more limited level in 2025.
Countries with the World's Highest Emissions
The top five countries causing the most emissions were announced as China, the USA, India, Russia, and Indonesia, respectively. Carbon dioxide emissions held the largest share in global emissions.
