Turkey's August Inflation Figures Announced

According to data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute for August, annual inflation dropped to 31.51 percent, while consumer prices increased by 1.84 percent on a monthly basis.

The Turkish Statistical Institute shared the August inflation data with the public. According to the announced figures, the Consumer Price Index recorded a monthly increase of 1.84 percent, while annual inflation declined to 31.51 percent.

August Inflation Rates

According to the August data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the Consumer Price Index recorded a 1.84 percent increase on a monthly basis. On an annual basis, the inflation rate realized at 31.51 percent with a slight decrease.

Producer Price Index Data

Examining the Domestic Producer Price Index data, there was a 2.57 percent increase on a monthly basis in August. Annual producer inflation was recorded at 27.95 percent.

Changes in Main Expenditure Groups

Based on main expenditure groups, the only group that showed a decrease in August compared to the previous month was clothing and footwear with 3.54 percent. The highest increase was determined in the education group with 8.62 percent.

Lowest and Highest Groups on an Annual Basis

Compared to the same month of the previous year, the main group with the lowest increase was recorded as clothing and footwear with 13.16 percent. The main group with the highest increase was identified as education with 53.44 percent.

Products with the Highest Increase and Decrease

On the basis of consumer prices, the highest price increase in August was seen in international passenger transport by air with 56.26 percent. The product with the largest price drop was other fresh fruits with a 21.5 percent decrease.
