According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey's total electricity generation in July stood at 34.6 billion kilowatt-hours, while historical records were broken on a monthly basis in solar, domestic, and renewable sources.

July Production Figures

Turkey's total electricity generation was recorded at 34.6 billion kilowatt-hours in July, with hydroelectric power plants taking the highest share at 26.2 percent during this period.

New Record in Solar Energy

Improving upon its record from June, solar energy-based electricity generation reached a volume of 5.37 billion kilowatt-hours in July, accounting for 15.5 percent of the total production.

Share of Renewable and Domestic Sources

Electricity generation from renewable sources in July constituted 58.2 percent of total production with 20.14 billion kilowatt-hours. Production based on domestic sources reached its highest level on a monthly basis with 24.75 billion kilowatt-hours.

Daily Records in Solar and Wind

All-time highs on a daily basis were witnessed with the generation of 189,680 megawatt-hours of electricity from solar energy on July 19 and 265,512 megawatt-hours from wind energy on July 30.

January-July Period Results

In the first seven months of the year, electricity generation reached 66.1 billion kilowatt-hours from hydroelectric, 25.6 billion from wind, and 24.6 billion from solar, achieving the highest values for the same periods since the year 2000.

Statements by Minister Bayraktar

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that the major transformation in the energy architecture continues with domestic and renewable sources, and that a historic double record was achieved in July.
