Turkey's first domestic and national dredging vessel, UAB Mavi Vatan, launched

Turkey's first domestically built trailing suction hopper dredger, UAB Mavi Vatan, was successfully launched with a ceremony held.
Launching of the Vessel and Statements
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the trailing suction hopper dredger UAB Mavi Vatan, built for the first time in Turkish shipyards with a domestic design, has been launched into the water.
Minister Uraloğlu shared important information about the new-type trailing suction dredger, the construction of which began on April 10, 2025.
Technical Specifications and Capacity
UAB Mavi Vatan has a length of 85 meters, a dredging depth of 20 meters, and a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters.
It was stated that thanks to its full automation feature, the vessel will be able to perform dredging while underway and carry out gulf dredging operations.
Commissioning Process
The dredging vessel, constructed with national resources, is planned to be officially commissioned after a few months of sea trials.
