Strategic Importance of Mining
Drawing attention to the value of mining by referencing TEKNOFEST's slogan, Turkish Gold General Manager Abdurrahman Alp Beyaz stated that underground ores cannot be transformed into high technology without being processed.
Emphasizing how vital mining activities are to reach the components of UAVs, armed UAVs, missiles, and rockets, Beyaz noted that they want to bring domestic and national technologies in this field to light.
New R&D Studies
Explaining their plans regarding the commercialization and field use of projects that stood out in the competition, Beyaz announced that they initiated a new R&D center study immediately following the TEKNOFEST partnership.
Stating that the R&D center has started operating, Beyaz expressed that they aim to reflect young people's projects into real life and create new national technologies within the company.
Future Miners Scholarship Program
Explaining that they support young people planning careers in engineering and mining fields, Beyaz announced that they established the Future Miners scholarship program.
He stated that they provide a monthly scholarship of twenty thousand liras to young people who rank high in the university entrance exam, and also provide summer internship opportunities by assigning mentors within the company.
Study Abroad Scholarships
Touching upon the study abroad scholarship projects, the Turkish Gold General Manager conveyed that they sent six students abroad by covering all accommodation, tuition, and living expenses.
He added that these students will be entitled to be employed within Turkish Gold upon returning from abroad.
Economic Policies and Current Account Deficit
Stating that mining is a deep-rooted field that gives its name to eras, Beyaz said that with the Medium-Term Program, the importance of extracting underground wealth has been emphasized with thicker lines.
Expressing that the energy item and gold imports hold serious importance in the current account deficit, Beyaz noted that the more gold and raw materials are produced, the more contribution will be made to the country's economy.
Raw Material of the Defense Industry
Stating that a strong position has been reached in the defense industry, Beyaz emphasized that the minerals which are the raw materials of this industry must now be personally extracted, processed, and transformed into final products.
