According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, TPAO's exploration area in Şanlıurfa was enlarged and its license period in Mardin was extended.

The oil exploration decisions made by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette. Within the scope of the regulations, Turkish Petroleum Corporation's area in Şanlıurfa was expanded, while its license period in Mardin was also extended.

Official Gazette Decisions Published

New decisions regarding petroleum rights taken by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources were announced to the public through the Official Gazette. In line with the published decisions, various updates were made for Turkish Petroleum Corporation activities.

Area Expanded in Şanlıurfa

New map sections were added to the 5,014-hectare oil exploration license area owned by Turkish Petroleum Corporation within the borders of Şanlıurfa.

It was decided to add 35,783-hectare map sections to the area in order to comprehensively evaluate the hydrocarbon potential in the region.

Mardin License Extended

Changes were also made to the license period regarding Turkish Petroleum Corporation's 31,556-hectare exploration area in Mardin.

The license period was extended for two years in order to determine the hydrocarbon potential of the region and bring it into the country's economy.

In line with the decision taken, the relevant license period was updated to be valid from October 22, 2026, to October 22, 2028.
