According to the preliminary results of the 2025 industry and service statistics announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, while a significant portion of active enterprises operated in the service sector, the trade sector ranked first in total turnover.
Distribution of Enterprises and Employment
Last year in Turkey, 48.4% of active enterprises operated in the service sector, 31.6% in trade, and 12.4% in the industry sector.
While the service sector ranked first in the number of enterprises and constituted 41.2% of total employment, the industry sector's share in employment was calculated as 26.1%.
Turnover and Production Values
The trade sector ranked first by taking a 46.8% share of the total turnover, while the industry sector's turnover share was 28.5%, and the service sector's turnover share was 17.8%.
In 2025, the highest production value occurred in the manufacturing industry, where a production value of 27 trillion 886 billion liras was recorded.
Distribution by Scales
While the largest share in turnover was observed in enterprises belonging to the group with 250 and more employees at 34.3%, other employee groups followed respectively.
36.4% of employment took place in enterprises in the 1-9 employee group, while the share of enterprises with 250 and more employees was 27%.
General Economic Figures
While the number of active enterprises was recorded as 4 million 16 thousand 59 last year, total turnover reached 124 trillion 816 billion liras according to preliminary results.
Total production value amounted to 71 trillion 351 billion liras, while total employment was realized as 20 million 122 thousand 817 people.
