TURKSTAT Announces 2025 Sectoral Balance Sheets Data

According to data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, while the highest number of companies operated in the wholesale and retail trade sector in 2025, the manufacturing sector stood out in terms of financial scale.

The Turkish Statistical Institute has released the Sector Balance Sheets bulletin for the year 2025. According to the announced data, the distribution and financial performance indicators of 1,150,191 companies across Turkey have become clear.

Number of Companies and Sectoral Distribution

The total number of companies across Turkey was recorded as 1,150,191 for the year 2025. In the sectoral distribution of these companies, the wholesale and retail trade sector ranked first with 356,973 companies. The total number of companies in the manufacturing sector amounted to 185,933.

Asset Size and Resource Structure

According to the aggregated balance sheet of the companies, the total asset size in 2025 was 123 trillion 970 billion 539 million Turkish Lira. The total of short and long-term foreign liabilities materialized at the level of 67 trillion 229 billion 429 million Turkish Lira. The total equity was recorded as 56 trillion 741 billion 110 million Turkish Lira.

Ranking of Sectors by Asset Size

The manufacturing sector ranked first among all sectors with an asset size of 33 trillion 54 billion 231 million Turkish Lira. The wholesale and retail trade sector took second place in asset size with 25 trillion 89 billion 616 million Turkish Lira.

Equity Distribution

In terms of equity, the manufacturing sector is in first place with 15 trillion 425 billion 939 million Turkish Lira. The manufacturing sector was followed respectively by the wholesale and retail trade sector with 8 trillion 793 billion 885 million Turkish Lira and the professional, scientific, and technical activities sector with 8 trillion 446 million Turkish Lira.

Net Profit and Loss Status

According to the aggregated income statement data of the companies, the aggregated period net profit of all sectors was 2 trillion 237 billion 612 million Turkish Lira. The manufacturing sector was determined as the sector achieving the highest net profit with 873 billion 989 million Turkish Lira. The wholesale and retail trade sector achieved a net profit of 676 billion 724 million Turkish Lira, and the construction sector achieved 229 billion 69 million Turkish Lira.
