Unemployment Rate Decreased in August 2026
While the number of employed individuals in Turkey showed an increase, the youth unemployment rate was recorded at 13 percent.
In Turkey, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 7.8 percent in August 2026.
Change in the Number of Unemployed
According to the results of the Household Labour Force Survey, the number of unemployed persons aged 15 and over decreased by 106 thousand people compared to the previous month, reaching 2 million 740 thousand people in August 2026.
Rates by Gender
According to the released data, the unemployment rate was measured at 6.6 percent for men, while it was estimated at 10.1 percent for women.
Increase in Employment Data
The seasonally adjusted employment rate stood at 48.4 percent, with the total number of employed individuals increasing by 136 thousand people to reach 32 million 507 thousand people.
