The US delegation, led by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and the Chinese delegation, led by Vice Premier He Lifeng, held an all-day meeting at JPMorgan Chase's headquarters in Manhattan.

Artificial Intelligence and Notification Mechanism

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that they had a very successful meeting with China on trade and artificial intelligence, and mentioned that they proposed the establishment of a US-China Artificial Intelligence Dialogue mechanism.

Trade Council Becomes Operational

US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer emphasized that the steps taken in Beijing are turning into reality and that the Trade Council has been made operational.

Greer conveyed that export controls are not on the agenda regarding artificial intelligence, and that work is being done on non-sensitive and balanced products on the trade side.
