US President Donald Trump stated that he does not expect the resumed attacks against Iran to last very long, reiterating his claims regarding the control of the Strait of Hormuz. The Tehran administration, on the other hand, claimed that a wedding ceremony was targeted in the southern city of Sirik.

Trump's Statement Regarding the Duration of the Attacks

US President Donald Trump, in response to reporters' questions about how long the attacks on Iran will last, stated that he thinks the process will not take very long and reiterated that the US maintains control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Following Trump's statements, the price of Brent crude oil showed a slight decline and stabilized at just over 95 dollars.

Second Wave of Attacks and Military Targets

While the US military carried out the second wave of attacks against Iran, it was announced that radar systems and minelaying capacity on the southern coast were targeted in these operations.

Trump emphasized that all new defensive and offensive equipment established along the Strait of Hormuz had been destroyed, and that after this very heavy night operation, they were ready to launch a new attack whenever they wished.

Iran's Retaliation Against US Bases in the Middle East

Following a similar method in the conflicts that have been ongoing for about six months, Iran responded to US bases in the Middle East with unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles.

Accusation Regarding the Wedding Ceremony in Sirik

The Tehran administration accused the US of targeting a wedding ceremony held in the southern city of Sirik, and the Iranian Red Crescent reported that at least four people lost their lives and about 67 people were injured in the attack.

Statements from the US Navy and Iran

US Central Command Spokesperson Navy Captain Tim Hawkins stated that the US military never targets civilians.

While Iranian officials likened the incident in Sirik to an attack on an elementary school in the city of Minab—where approximately 120 children reportedly lost their lives—Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that these crimes would be resolutely responded to.
