US State Department Approves Weapons Sales to Egypt, Kuwait, and UAE
The US has approved billions of dollars in military equipment and missile sales to Middle Eastern countries Egypt, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.
The US Department of State has officially approved potential weapons sales totaling $2.27 billion to Egypt, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Major Guidance Section Sale for the UAE
According to information shared by the US Department of State, the UAE accounted for the largest share of the approved sales package. In this context, the sale of APKWS-II guidance sections and related parts valued at approximately $1.041 billion is planned for the UAE.
Supply of Javelin Missiles to Egypt
Military equipment shipments targeting Egypt were also approved within the framework of the package. The ministry approved the potential sale of up to 2,020 FGM-148F Javelin missiles and up to 200 Javelin Lightweight Command Launch Units to Egypt, with an estimated value of $832 million.
Patriot Parts and Repair Support for Kuwait
Kuwait was also among the countries that benefited from the military sales approval. The provision of certain parts belonging to Patriot missiles and repair services, valued at approximately $400 million, is planned for Kuwait.
Approval for Saudi Arabia Also Recalled
The US administration had taken similar steps toward the region in the past. On September 17, the US Department of State approved a potential military sale worth $24.3 billion covering 48 F-35 fighter jets and 49 engines to Saudi Arabia.
