The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry has publicly released the 2026 Vietnam Private Sector Report and the Provincial Competitiveness Index for 2025. The report addresses the economic contributions of the private sector and comprehensive innovations in the PCI methodology.

Scope of the Report and New Methodology

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the Vietnam Private Sector Economic Report and PCI 2025 on May 15, 2026. This development marks a significant improvement in methodology after more than two decades of PCI implementation.

Inclusion of Household Businesses

The report reflects the views of 5,128 businesses and households across 34 provinces and cities. For the first time, 1,001 individual household businesses were included in the official survey, providing a significant shift in perspectives on the business environment.

PCI 2.0 and Business Performance Index

PCI 2.0 consists of 9 component indices containing 98 indicators. Additionally, the Business Performance Index was incorporated into the system for the first time as an independent metric with 23 indicators.
