Warning on Economy and Iraqi Market from DTSO President Kaya
Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mehmet Kaya addressed the region's economic problems and drew attention to export losses in the Iraqi market.

DTSO Elections and Historical Unity
Stating that they entered the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry elections with a single list, Mehmet Kaya said this was a first in the chamber's history.
Kaya stated that during this process, the business world in the region as well as non-governmental organizations provided significant support.
Economic Dimension of the Resolution Process
Kaya said that the Kurdish issue has three main dimensions: disarmament, democratization, and increasing the socio-economic development of the region.
Arguing that the conflict process caused the region to fall behind economically, Kaya stated that security policies negatively affected trade.
Regional Development and Financing
Stating that in the new period they will focus on the development of not only the city but the entire region, Kaya conveyed that they will establish an investment monitoring and coordination unit.
Stating that access to financing is one of the most important problems, Kaya said that small investors and cooperatives have difficulty accessing credit.
Criticism of the Incentive System
Arguing that the incentive system prepared in Ankara does not suit the region, Kaya stated that despite the system changing countless times in the last 24 years, the share of the 29 Kurdish provinces has remained low.
Nusaybin Gate and the Iraqi Market
Stating that the opening of the Nusaybin Border Gate will trigger industry, Kaya emphasized that the Iraqi market has been lost due to security and tax policies.
