Located about 630 miles southwest of the mouth of the Mississippi River on Tuesday afternoon, the system's maximum sustained winds are reaching speeds of 35 mph.
Hurricane Expectation and Historical Data
Experts state that the system could turn into a tropical storm on Wednesday and a hurricane on Thursday. If this happens, it will mark the latest-forming first hurricane of the season since 1905.
