Warning on illegal betting and gambling from Cevdet Yılmaz

Speaking at a panel on the fight against illegal activities organized by the Directorate of Communications, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz emphasized that illegal betting and gambling networks intersect with organized crime organizations, threatening public order and economic security.

Attending the Say Stop to Addiction: Panel on Combating Illegal Betting and Gambling Addiction organized by the Directorate of Communications, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz made important evaluations.

Yılmaz stated that the digitalization process has transformed the forms of crime and addiction, and that illegal betting and gambling activities have now acquired a cross-border structure.

Public Order and Economic Security Risk

Stating that illegal betting and gambling networks intersect with informal financial structures and organized crime organizations, Yılmaz said that this situation threatens public order and economic security.

Coordinated Struggle and Action Plan

It was underlined that coordinated action must be taken in the fields of security, law, finance, health, education, social policy, and communication during the struggle process.

It was noted that the prepared comprehensive action plan entered into force with a Presidential Circular in November 2025, and implementations are monitored alongside MASAK in two-month periods.

Youth Perception and Encouraging Content

It was mentioned that advertisements presented with the promise of easy earnings, harmful content disguised as gaming footage, and social media posts weaken the perception of young people.

It was stated that blocking all kinds of content and broadcasts that encourage betting and gambling ranks among the priority elements in the struggle.
