According to data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, an increase was recorded in the total deposits and loan volume of the banking sector in the week ending September 25.

Deposit Amounts and Types
During the period in question, total deposits increased by over 110 billion 384 million liras, rising from 33 trillion 891 billion liras to 34 trillion 2 billion liras. Turkish lira-denominated deposits increased by 0.80 percent, while foreign currency-denominated deposits rose by 0.07 percent.
Foreign Currency Deposit Details
Total foreign currency deposits in banks stood at 269 billion 555 million dollars last week, and 230 billion 116 million dollars of this amount was gathered in the accounts of domestic residents.
Data Adjusted for Parity Effects
When considering data adjusted for parity effects in domestic residents' total foreign currency deposits, an increase of 1 billion 342 million dollars was observed as of September 25.
Developments in Consumer Loans
Consumer loans of domestic residents showed an increase of 0.82 percent last week, reaching 6 trillion 941 billion liras. The loan distribution included housing, vehicle, personal loans, and individual credit cards.
Total Loan Volume
The total loan volume of the banking sector, including the Central Bank, also recorded an increase of 110 billion 884 million liras in the week ending September 25, rising to 27 trillion 642 billion liras.
