Yakup Budak Criticized Economic and Agricultural Policies in Konya

Saadet Party General Administrative Board Member Yakup Budak directed criticisms at the government regarding economy, agriculture, livestock, and foreign policy during his speech at the Konya Provincial Presidency September Provincial Divan Meeting.

The September Provincial Divan Meeting was organized with high participation by the Saadet Party Konya Provincial Presidency. District chairs and numerous party members attended the meeting.

Emphasis on Konya Organization

Touching upon the organization work in Konya at the opening of the meeting, Yakup Budak drew attention to the city's importance in the party's cause. Budak stated that Konya and the organization members hold a privileged place.

Criticism of Economy and Inflation

Devoting a significant part of his speech to the Turkish economy, Budak criticized government policies over inflation rates and the purchasing power of citizens. Budak argued that the current inflation level can be sustained neither by the government nor by the citizens.

Agriculture and Production Difficulties

Mentioning Konya's importance in agricultural production, Budak stated that the gap between rising input costs and product prices leaves farmers in a difficult situation. Drawing attention to the increases in diesel and other costs, Budak criticized agricultural import policies.

Import Dependency in Livestock

Asserting that producers are moving away from the sector due to costs in bovine and ovine livestock breeding, Budak emphasized that there is a dependency on imports in poultry farming.

Foreign Policy and Emphasis on Gaza

Touching upon Gaza, Yemen, and regional developments, Budak said that the international system remains inadequate in resolving crises. Budak expressed that Turkey should always stand by the victim in foreign policy.
