With an announcement published in the Official Gazette by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the area for the YG25-Demirköprü Floating SPP project, Turkey's first licensed floating solar power plant project, has been officially declared as a YEKA.

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources announced in the Official Gazette that the area where the YG25-Demirköprü Floating SPP project will be carried out has been designated as a Renewable Energy Resource Area (YEKA).

It was reported that the project holds the distinction of being Turkey's first solar power plant in the licensed area and that preparation processes are continuing in line with this.

Candidate YEKA and Competition Process

The Ministry had designated the area where the project can be implemented as a Candidate YEKA in June of last year. Subsequently, the YEKA SPP 2025 competition was held in November.

As a result of the competition, the Demirköprü Floating SPP Joint Venture Group won the 35 MW capacity right, and the process was formalized.

Bids and Contribution Fee Details

The Demirköprü Floating SPP Joint Venture Group completed the tender process ahead by submitting a bid of 3.25 Euro-cents per kilowatt-hour for this important project.

The venture also earned the right to undertake the project with a total contribution fee offer of 7.48 million Euros, amounting to 187 thousand Euros per megawatt.

Revision in Area Size

The surface area data regarding the project area, previously stated as 9.58 square kilometers in the Candidate YEKA announcement, has been updated.

In the recently published YEKA announcement, the project area was officially revised and finalized as 1.07 square kilometers.
