Fund Investigations and Foreign Policy Agenda at Cabinet Meeting
During the three-hour Cabinet meeting chaired by President Erdoğan, steps to be taken for fund victims, the terror-free Turkey process, and international developments were discussed.
The Cabinet, convened under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, completed its session which lasted approximately three hours. Important topics regarding fund investigations, the terror-free Turkey process, and foreign policy were addressed at the meeting.
Fund Investigations and Victims
The primary agenda item of the meeting consisted of fund investigations. Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek and Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek briefed the board members regarding the financial and judicial dimensions of the issue.
Steps to be taken for those who suffered grievances due to the fund crisis were put on the table. In addition, administrative and financial measures to be taken to prevent similar problems from happening again were evaluated in detail.
Terror-Free Turkey Process
Another important heading of the Cabinet meeting was the terror-free Turkey process. The terror organization's disarmament process was discussed alongside intelligence reports.
The situation of PKK elements in northern Iraq, including Sinjar, and the processes carried out regarding the integration of the YPG in Syria were handled in detail at the meeting.
Reflections of the United Nations Summit
Within the framework of foreign policy headings, President Erdoğan's contacts at the United Nations Summit were conveyed to the board members.
The reflections of the meetings held within the scope of the summit and international diplomacy traffic were evaluated by the cabinet members.
Global and Regional Developments
The Russia-Ukraine war and navigation safety in the Black Sea were among the regional issues discussed at the meeting.
US-Iran tension, ceasefire efforts, Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, and the situation in Gaza were also laid on the table in the cabinet.
Preparations for the New Legislative Year
At the meeting, preparations prior to the new legislative year starting on October 1 were reviewed.
Priority bill proposals planned to be brought to the parliament's agenda were submitted to the consultation of the board members.
