Investigation launched into social media influencer over posts targeting people from Trabzon

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex officio investigation into social media influencer Ertuğrul Kaya, who used expressions in his social media posts targeting people from Trabzon and aiming to pit different segments of society against each other.

Grounds for the Investigation

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an ex officio investigation process regarding social media influencer Ertuğrul Kaya due to his posts.

In the statement made, it was stated that the suspect targeted people from Trabzon with his posts and used expressions aimed at pitting different segments of society against each other.

Measures Taken and Abroad Status

Within the scope of the investigation, judicial authorities requested that Ertuğrul Kaya's relevant posts be removed from publication and access to his account be blocked.

It was determined that the social media celebrity, for whom a detention warrant was issued, went abroad on August 25.
