Mehmet Uçum Makes Statements on Election Date and Process

Chief Advisor to the President and Head of the Legal Board Mehmet Uçum stated in his speech at the Turkey Press Federation that he predicts the elections could be held on April 16, 2028, and announced that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be a candidate for the last time.
Election Date and Candidacy Announcement
Chief Advisor to the President Mehmet Uçum stated that he predicts the elections could be held on April 16, 2028. He noted that this date is the anniversary of the referendum for the transition to the presidential system.
Within the framework of this evaluation, Uçum shared with the public that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be a candidate for the last time.
Terror-Free Turkey Process and Commissions
Speaking at the program organized by the Turkey Press Federation, Mehmet Uçum conveyed that four sub-commissions have been established within the scope of the Terror-Free Turkey process.
He particularly emphasized that the main goal of the process is to ensure the complete liquidation of the terrorist organization.
Öcalan's Role and Task in the Process
Mehmet Uçum clearly announced that a task will be assigned to Öcalan within the established Disarmament and Strategic Coordination Sub-Commission.
Underlining that this given task should not be interpreted in different ways, Uçum stated that the residence in İmralı was built as an additional unit affiliated with the prison.
