Within the scope of an investigation conducted on charges of laundering assets derived from crime, millions of Euros and US Dollars were seized in an operation carried out in Sarıyer, Istanbul, targeting Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, known as "Kara Haydar from Van".

As part of the investigation conducted on charges of laundering assets derived from crime, a new operation was carried out targeting Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, known as "Kara Haydar from Van".

The operation took place in Sarıyer, Istanbul, around 02:00 on September 26, 2026, and numerous foreign currency banknotes were found during the searches.

Distribution of the Millions of Euros and Dollars Seized

During the searches in Sarıyer, 20,000 pieces of 500-euro bills, 29,300 pieces of 200-euro bills, 3,200 pieces of 100-euro bills, 5,200 pieces of 50-euro bills, and 7,000 pieces of 100-dollar bills were seized.

According to the calculations made, a total of 57,700 euro banknotes and 7,000 pieces of 100-dollar banknotes were placed under protection.

Total Amount and Confiscated Vehicles

While the total equivalent of the seized foreign currencies amounted to approximately 953 million Turkish Liras, two automobiles stated to have been used in the crime were also seized within the scope of the operation.

Following the search and seizure procedures carried out by security forces, one suspect was detained.
