13 Detained in Istanbul and Ankara-Based Fake Health Product Operation
While numerous smuggled products were seized in raids conducted by security forces in two provinces, suspects linked to the incident were taken to the police station.
In a fake health product operation centered in Istanbul and including Ankara, 13 suspects determined to be engaged in illegal trade were detained.
Start of the Investigation
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Branch initiated an operation under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, it was determined that fake health products were sent abroad through illegal channels and the proceeds were brought in off the books.
Financial Investigations and Operation
In accordance with financial investigation reports prepared by MASAK, money transfers inconsistent with the financial profiles of the suspects were examined in detail.
Following meticulous work carried out by the teams, simultaneous raids were organized at predetermined addresses in Istanbul and Ankara.
Seized Materials
As a result of the operations, a total of 13 suspects were captured and detained, and numerous materials were found during searches at the addresses.
Following the searches, 9,548 boxes of food supplements, 75 boxes of medication, and 69 boxes of health bands were seized and taken into custody.
