13 detained in Istanbul and Ankara-based fake health product operation
During raids carried out by security forces in two metropolitan cities, a large number of contraband products were seized, while informal money transfers directed at foreign countries were also put under the lens.
13 suspects, accused of illegally shipping fake health products abroad and bringing the revenues into the country off-the-books, were captured in simultaneous operations organized by security forces in Istanbul and Ankara.
Beginning of the Investigation
Acting under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch launched a comprehensive study in line with incoming tip-offs.
Financial Examinations
Evaluating financial analysis reports prepared by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board, security forces took up a detailed examination of suspicious money transfers that did not align with the suspects' financial profiles.
Simultaneous Operations
Within the framework of the ongoing investigation, a total of 13 suspects were captured and detained in simultaneous raids organized in the provinces of Istanbul and Ankara.
Seized Materials
During searches carried out at the suspects' addresses, 9,548 boxes of food supplements, 75 boxes of medication, and 69 boxes of health bands were taken into custody.
