6 arrested in fraud operation under promise of medical device rentals
In an investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was revealed that suspects who promised high returns under the guise of leasing medical imaging devices made millions of liras in illicit gains.
Within the framework of a qualified fraud investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 6 suspects were detained in an operation targeting Erdi D. and his accomplices, who promised high earnings through medical device rental pledges.
Fraud under the Promise of Medical Devices
It was determined that Erdi D. deceived complainants with the lie that they would purchase medical imaging devices in their own names and lease them to the Ministry of Health to generate high profits.
Official Institution Examination
As a result of examining the information and documents obtained from the Ministry of Health, it became clear that the suspects had no commercial activity or official tender registration in this field.
Massive Transaction Volume
With the examination of MASAK data, it was ascertained that the accounts belonging to suspect Erdi D. had a transaction volume of approximately 831 million Turkish Liras, of which 733 million liras occurred in the last year.
Money Transfers to Betting Platforms
In detailed examinations conducted on the suspect's mobile phone and MASAK records, it was detected that a portion of the obtained funds was transferred to legal and illegal betting sites.
Operation and Detentions
Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, a total of 6 suspects, including Erdi D., who was alleged to be the leader, along with Ebru E., Ferdi K., Damla A., Sadık D., and Erdem D., were detained in an executed operation.
