According to data released by the World Health Organization, the global average life expectancy has started to rise again following the decline seen during the pandemic period, reaching pre-pandemic levels.

According to World Health Organization data, the global average life expectancy, which dropped to 71.5 years during the pandemic, rose to 73.3 years as of 2023, approaching the pre-pandemic level.
Healthy Life Expectancy
Healthy life expectancy was measured at 62.8 years in 2023, remaining 0.4 years below the 2019 data.
Share of Chronic Diseases
According to WHO data, 74 percent of deaths worldwide are caused by noncommunicable diseases, with ischemic heart disease ranking first in this area.
Increasing Ailments
While dementia rose from 19th to 5th place among causes of death, the disease burden associated with depressive disorders and anxiety disorders also showed a significant increase.
