Call for integrated system regarding access issue to health records in Cyprus

The Cyprus Turkish Medical Association and the Universal Patients' Rights Association announced that patients experience problems in accessing emergency service tests, laboratory and imaging results, and epicrises, and called for the transition to an integrated electronic health record system encompassing both public and private healthcare institutions.

It was requested that a secure and standardized integrated Electronic Health Record System covering all public and private healthcare institutions be established.

It was requested that healthcare professional and patient organizations be included in the design process of the system, taking data security and privacy principles into consideration.
