Da Nang Health Sector's Initiative to Improve Service Quality
During a working meeting in Da Nang, the quality of healthcare services, investment plans, and the strengthening of primary healthcare infrastructure were discussed.
During a working meeting held in Da Nang with the participation of party and health ministry leaders, discussions focused on improving the quality of healthcare services, strengthening grassroots healthcare, and the planned investment budget of approximately 6,000 billion VND for the 2026-2030 period.

The working session held in Da Nang brought together Le Ngoc Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the City Party Committee; Nguyen Khac Toan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Tran Thanh Thuy, Director of the Department of Health; and other relevant officials. The meeting evaluated the current state of the health sector, party organization, disease prevention, and treatment services.
First Nine Months of Healthcare Services
According to data presented at the meeting, over 5 million outpatient visits and more than 620,000 inpatient treatments were carried out across medical facilities in the first nine months. It was noted that the proportion of people benefiting from regular health checks, free screenings, and treatments reached 70 percent, while health insurance coverage reached 94.86 percent of the population.
Future Investment Plans
It was stated that the city plans to invest approximately 6,000 billion VND in healthcare during the 2026-2030 period, with an allocated resource of about 500 billion VND for the year 2026. These upcoming investments are expected to make a major contribution to the modernization of the city's health infrastructure.
New Strategies and Objectives
Leaders gave instructions on shifting from a treatment-oriented approach to proactive disease prevention, developing incentive policies for areas facing shortages of doctors and specialists, strengthening grassroots healthcare, and turning Da Nang into a regional specialized medical center. Furthermore, the promotion of digital transformation and the enhancement of infrastructure capacity at health stations were emphasized.
