Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc Meets with Medtronic Delegation
The Ministry of Health discussed healthcare staff training and innovation center projects with Medtronic representatives.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Deputy Minister of Health, received a high-level delegation from Medtronic to discuss healthcare personnel training, clinical research, and the establishment of an innovation center.
Delegation Reception and Participants
Deputy Minister of Health Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc received the high-level delegation from Medtronic at the Ministry of Health headquarters and held a working meeting with them.
The meeting was led by Sankum Mongkol, Country General Manager of Medtronic for Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos, with representatives from relevant ministry departments also in attendance.
New Demands of the Healthcare Sector
Deputy Minister Nguyen Tri Thuc stated that he welcomed Medtronic's proactive approach and interest in strengthening cooperation with Vietnam in the healthcare sector.
It was emphasized that Vietnam's healthcare sector is facing new demands in areas such as human resources, scientific research, innovation, digital transformation, and access to advanced medical developments.
Areas of Cooperation and Innovation
Medtronic Country General Manager Sankum Mongkol stated that they are seeking opportunities between the company and the ministry for healthcare staff training, clinical research, and the application of new technologies.
During the meeting, in-depth evaluations were made regarding the possibility of establishing a Healthcare Innovation Center within the borders of Vietnam.
Next Steps and Coordination
Following the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tri Thuc assigned the International Cooperation Department as the focal point for work to be carried out with Medtronic.
Instructions were given for relevant specialized units to continue joint work in order to determine an appropriate roadmap.
