In his speech at the Legal Policies Board Meeting held at Çankaya Mansion, Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu stated that the law is the most important element of trust in healthcare services, emphasizing the need for a qualified legislative infrastructure for sustainable investments.
Meeting at Çankaya Mansion
Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu attended the Legal Policies Board Meeting held at Çankaya Mansion under the chairmanship of Mehmet Uçum, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Legal Policies Board. Wishing the new judicial year to be auspicious at the beginning of the meeting, Memişoğlu stated that policy boards offer versatile contributions to public administration.
The Relationship Between Law and Health
Stating that the law is one of the fundamental pillars of state order and social life, Minister Memişoğlu noted that this understanding finds its counterpart in the maxim 'Let man live so that the state may live.' Recalling Farabi's comparison of the state to a healthy human body, Memişoğlu expressed that law and health are two complementary fundamental areas.
Healthcare Infrastructure and Legislation
Stating that Turkey has undergone a historical transformation in its healthcare infrastructure, Memişoğlu said that the system has attained an exemplary structure with city hospitals and technological investments. He conveyed that in order for this physical development to be sustainable, a qualified legislative infrastructure is needed alongside strong investments.
Legislative Efforts
Reminding that they have implemented over 160 legislative regulations in a wide range from preventive health services to health tourism since July 2024, Minister Memişoğlu reiterated that the most important mainstay protecting citizens' rights and ensuring employees perform their duties safely is the law.
