The three two-month-old Sumatran tiger cubs, born in July, were briefly separated from their mother for a detailed examination.

Measures to Avoid Stress
To prevent stress in the young tigers, which are not accustomed to human contact, all medical procedures were completed very quickly.
Following the health checks and microchipping, the cubs were safely returned to their enclosure in a short time.
Species Status and Conservation Efforts
Sumatran tigers are a critically endangered and rare species, with an estimated 400 to 500 individuals remaining in the wild.
Zoos contribute to establishing a backup population that can support future reintroduction efforts into the wild.
Expected Names
Following the completion of their health checks, it is planned to name the three tiger cubs after characters from Homer's epic Odyssey.
