David Imbordino, head of the agency's cybersecurity Directorate, spoke at the Billington CyberSecurity Summit in Washington, D.C. Participating in a panel alongside officials from the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, Imbordino stated that they are examining how artificial intelligence will be used in triage processes.

The agency ingests massive data streams every day, such as intercepted foreign communications and electronic signals. Stating that the volume problem has always existed, Imbordino expressed that artificial intelligence increases the likelihood of reaching important information much faster than before.
