Free medication support provided to more than 1.5 million people wanting to quit tobacco

Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu announced that free medication support has been provided to more than 1.5 million citizens wanting to quit tobacco. Counseling services have been delivered to thousands of individuals through ongoing efforts across the country.

Free Medication Support

Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu announced that free medication support has been provided to more than 1.5 million citizens wanting to quit tobacco. It was stated that field operations are being carried out with determination with the goal of a healthy society.

Outpatient Clinic Services

Direct counseling services were provided to 376,158 citizens at 1,678 smoking cessation outpatient clinics operating across Turkey. Additionally, online outpatient services were delivered via the Central Physician Appointment System at 383 centers across 81 provinces.

Field Studies and Trainings

With the active role of Tobacco Control Teams in the field, on-site counseling services were conducted in 920 public institutions. Within this scope, informational training was delivered to 23,115 public personnel.

Communication Lines and Follow-Up

Regular follow-up and motivation support were provided to 628,378 citizens through the ALO 171 Smoking Cessation Line. Meanwhile, 81,398 calls were answered via the ALO 191 Drug Addiction Combat Line, and motivation was provided through return calls.
