Health Insurance Fund to Cover Routine Checkups for Specific Groups
Under a newly drafted circular, periodic health checkups for certain disadvantaged groups and age ranges are planned to be financed by the fund.
The Ministry of Health has prepared a draft stipulating that the Health Insurance Fund will cover the expenses of periodic health checkups for specific groups.
Groups and Age Limits Within the Scope
According to the draft, groups proposed to have their routine health checkup expenses covered by the fund include the elderly, people with disabilities, and low-income households.
Additionally, those with chronic illnesses, ethnic minorities, and residents living in mountainous regions and island communes are included within the scope of this special regulation.
Maximum Payment Limits by Age Groups
According to the planning, a maximum annual payment of 350,000 VND per person is envisaged for individuals over the age of 18.
While the maximum reimbursement amount is set at 250,000 VND for individuals aged between 6 and 18, this amount is determined as a maximum of 200,000 VND for children under 6 years of age.
List of Expected Tests and Examinations
Basic tests such as complete blood count, blood sugar, creatinine, and triglycerides are included within the scope of the envisaged routine checkups.
Furthermore, total cholesterol, liver enzymes, urinalysis, abdominal ultrasound, and chest X-rays are also on the list of tests.
