Health Minister Memişoğlu Announces Screening Balance Sheet
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu shared the results of preventive health services within the framework of Public Health Week, stating that millions of people were screened.
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu shared data on preventive health services with the public in a statement made on the occasion of the September 3-9 Public Health Week. Memişoğlu announced that millions of free cancer and chronic disease screenings were carried out across the country, and thousands of people's health was intervened at an early stage.
Public Health Week and Calls
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu drew attention to the importance of preventive health services in his statement regarding September 3-9 Public Health Week.
Stating that field studies will be carried out in 81 provinces with seven different themes, Minister Memişoğlu called on citizens not to postpone their health.
Family Health and Life Centers
Health services continue to be provided uninterruptedly to citizens through 31,000 family physicians in 8,401 Family Health Centers across the country.
In addition, support is provided in seventeen different fields in 357 Healthy Life Centers, and a total of twenty-six million applications have been received in the last two years.
Maternal and Infant Health Services
The 62,000 midwives working within the scope of the process actively serve in the field to protect maternal and infant health.
Furthermore, guidance services are offered to expectant mothers through 1,774 pregnancy schools and the Maternity Journey mobile application, which has reached 260,000 active users.
Cancer Screenings and Early Diagnosis
Stating that they attach great importance to early diagnosis and preventive steps, Minister Memişoğlu announced that 16.1 million free cancer screenings were carried out.
As a result of these screenings, cancer was detected at an early stage in 36,000 of our citizens and treatment processes were initiated.
Chronic Diseases and the Fight
Within the framework of the studies carried out by the Ministry of Health, 158 million chronic disease screenings were implemented.
As a result of these comprehensive screenings, various diseases were detected at an early stage in 14.1 million of our citizens and secured.
Smoking Cessation Clinics
Within the scope of the fight against tobacco addiction, the capacity of the service network within preventive health services is expanded day by day.
The number of smoking cessation clinics was increased by 260 percent by the Ministry, reaching 1,678 centers nationwide.
