Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu attended the opening ceremony of the Pharmacist Rumeysa Gültekin Hemodialysis Center in Bolu, making important statements and emphasizing that society should focus on healthy living.

Hemodialysis Center Opened

Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu attended the opening ceremony of the Pharmacist Rumeysa Gültekin Hemodialysis Center established within the Köroğlu Unit of Bolu İzzet Baysal State Hospital.

Receiving information about the works from authorities during the opening program, Minister Memişoğlu wished that the new facility would be beneficial to the local people.

Those Who Lost Their Lives Commemorated

During his speech, Minister Memişoğlu commemorated with mercy pharmacist Rumeysa Gültekin, doctor Enes Gültekin, mechanical engineer Alp Mercan, and medical student Yiğit Gençbay, who lost their lives in the hotel fire in Kartalkaya.

Wishing patience to the grieving families, Memişoğlu stated that the memory of the pharmacist whose name was given to the center would be kept alive.

Healthy Living and Preventive Medicine

Stating that keeping society healthy is their primary priority, Minister Memişoğlu noted that they have adopted the Healthy Century of Turkey vision in this direction.

Reminding that the name of the ministry is not the Ministry of Disease, Memişoğlu noted that citizens should demand ways to stay healthy from them.

Warning on Smoking and Obesity

He stated that the majority of deaths stem from smoking-related ailments, heart attacks, and strokes caused by physical inactivity and excess weight.

Stating that 65 percent of the society is overweight, 25 percent is obese, and one in three people smokes, he urged that these habits be abandoned.

New Health Investments in Bolu

Touching upon the health infrastructure works in the city, Memişoğlu stated that a 300-bed annex building was constructed for the İzzet Baysal Education and Research Hospital.

He added that the construction of a 200-bed annex building within the İzzet Baysal State Hospital is also being pursued with determination.

Call for Organ Donation

Within the scope of the opening and promotion program, citizens were called upon to be sensitive regarding organ donation.

Drawing attention to the vital importance of organ donation, it was stated that the aim is to raise awareness in society on this issue.
