Health Minister Memişoğlu's Statement on Public Health Week and Preventive Healthcare
Minister Kemal Memişoğlu announced that millions of screenings have been conducted and early diagnoses provided within the scope of preventive health services carried out across 81 provinces.
In a statement marking Public Health Week, Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu shared details regarding the preventive health services provided through family health centers and family physicians nationwide.
Public Health Week Events
Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu made a post on his social media account on the occasion of Public Health Week. He announced that they will be out in the field across 81 provinces for 7 days with 7 different themes.
Preventive Healthcare Services
Emphasizing that preventive health services have been advanced even further under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister Memişoğlu stated that services are provided with a strong infrastructure across the four corners of the country.
Family Health and Healthy Life Centers
It was announced that as of today, services are offered to citizens at the closest point possible with 31,000 family physicians across 8,401 Family Health Centers. Additionally, support is provided in 17 different areas, ranging from nutrition to physical activity, at 357 Healthy Life Centers.
Chronic Disease and Cancer Screenings
Within the scope of proactive processes carried out, 158 million chronic disease screenings were performed, detecting diseases in millions of citizens at an early stage. Furthermore, 16.1 million free cancer screenings were conducted, initiating early treatment processes for thousands of people.
Smoking Cessation Clinics
Touching upon efforts to combat addiction, the statement noted that the number of Smoking Cessation Clinics has been increased by 260 percent, reaching 1,678.
