The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Health Affairs is raising awareness on early diagnosis and breastfeeding by setting up information stands in Kültürpark and across 30 districts within the scope of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Breastfeeding Week.

The vital importance of early diagnosis in breast cancer is emphasized at the set-up stands, and detailed information is shared with participants.
At the same time, correct breastfeeding techniques and the value of breast milk for both maternal and infant health are addressed.
Active Contribution from University Students
University students taking part in the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Health Volunteers Project provide active support to the fieldwork.

Health Volunteers Project Coordinator Çisem Alagözoğlu stated that they aim to spread accurate health knowledge in society through interactive awareness activities.
Alagözoğlu expressed that they carry out awareness activities together with students from the Tınaztepe University Department of Midwifery.

Health volunteer Simay Tümer said that they asked questions to visitors, who gave correct answers, and drew attention to breast cancer.
Tümer conveyed that they gifted pink ribbon keychains for breast cancer awareness, thereby raising public consciousness.
