Following the heavy downpours in Rize, the Provincial Directorate of Health issued important warnings to citizens regarding drinking water safety, urging them not to consume water that carries a risk of contamination.

Critical Warning from the Health Directorate

The Rize Provincial Directorate of Health issued a new statement regarding drinking water safety following the heavy rainfall in the city and drew attention to the risks.

The statement emphasized that water of unknown origin, which may be at risk of contamination following heavy precipitation, must definitely not be consumed.

Recommendation to Boil in Case of Necessity

It was stated that citizens should pay utmost attention to the source and reliability of the water when using drinking water.

It was reported that in cases where water of unknown origin must be used, the water must be boiled and then cooled before consumption.

Attention Drawn to the Precautionary Period

Health Directorate officials stated that precautions should be taken not only during periods of heavy rainfall but also in the days following the end of the rain.

The call to remain cautious regarding drinking water safety was reiterated for the 5 to 7-day period following the end of the rainfall.
