Healthcare Workers Receive Difficult Terrain and Driving Safety Training
Search and rescue and ambulance driving safety training under difficult terrain conditions was provided to healthcare personnel in Kars, Ardahan, and Iğdır.
UMKE and ambulance driving safety training programs were organized for healthcare workers serving in the provinces of Kars, Ardahan, and Iğdır. The programs, held in the Susuz district and the center of Kars, aimed to prepare the personnel for disasters, emergencies, and challenging road conditions.
Training Programs Held in Three Provinces
UMKE and ambulance driving safety training sessions were held with the participation of healthcare workers from Kars, Ardahan, and Iğdır. Within the scope of the programs, theoretical and practical knowledge was imparted to healthcare personnel from various branches.
Camp Setup in Susuz for UMKE Teams
The 3-day UMKE training, attended by 17 volunteer healthcare workers consisting of nurses, midwives, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics, took place at a campsite established in the Susuz district. The teams were instructed on operating during disasters, scene organization, and intervening in casualties.
Drills for Debris and CBRN Incidents
Within the framework of the training, practices were conducted on rescuing injured individuals from debris, intervention in confined spaces, setting up emergency response units, and responding to CBRN incidents. Furthermore, the effective use of UMKE vehicles and equipment was tested.
Search and Evacuation in Difficult Terrain Conditions
In operations conducted under difficult terrain conditions, healthcare personnel improved their skills in reaching the injured and missing persons and providing first aid at the scene. Evacuation and safe transport applications were also carried out meticulously.
Driving Training in Various Road and Weather Conditions
Ambulance driving safety training was organized in the Kars city center with the participation of 21 personnel from Kars, Ardahan, and Iğdır. Safe driving techniques under different weather and road conditions were conveyed to emergency ambulance maintenance technicians, emergency medical technicians, and drivers.
Statements from Authorities on the Importance of Trainings
Provincial Health Director Specialist Dr. Arif Eker stated that they organize these trainings a few times a year due to differences in climate and terrain conditions. Provincial Ambulance Service Chief Physician Dr. Ubeydullah Şahin, on the other hand, drew attention to the importance of seconds in emergency health services, emphasizing that speed and safety are addressed together.
