The Ministry of Health is preparing a new circular draft to expand the list of traditional and herbal medicines for individuals under health insurance. The regulation aims to increase the number of products covered.

The Ministry of Health continues preparations for a new circular draft that expands the list of herbal and traditional medicines for individuals under health insurance.

Products to be Added to the List

The draft proposal foresees the addition of 129 herbal medicines and traditional medicines to the existing list and updates the scope and conditions of health insurance.

Changes in Medicine and Herb Counts

Compared to the 229 medicines on the current list, an increase of 129 items is planned, aiming to raise the number of items in the new list to 358.

In the list of medicinal herbs, a decrease of 5 items is planned compared to the current 349 traditional medicinal herbs, bringing the total expected number to 344.

Reimbursement Conditions and Rates

The draft also includes a separate list of 35 medicines combining pharmaceutical components with herbal extracts, which will be covered by the Health Insurance Fund.

The proposed reimbursement rates will be determined according to various conditions depending on the type of medicine, the disease, the healthcare facility, and special usage situations.
