International Health Tourism and Health Sciences Congress Begins in Iğdır

The International Health Tourism and Health Sciences Congress, organized by Iğdır University with the theme "Gateway to the Caucasus," opened its doors with a ceremony at the Karaağaç campus.
Beginning of the Congress
The international congress organized by Iğdır University officially began at the Karaağaç campus with a moment of silence and the singing of the Independence March.
Statements by Rector Gürel
Speaking at the opening of the congress, Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gürel stated that they are aware of the importance Iğdır holds due to its strategic location.
Tuzluca Salt Cave Project
Stating that the microclimate structure of the Tuzluca Salt Cave offers a natural treatment environment against respiratory diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, and COPD, Gürel announced that a new project with a budget of 50 million liras to increase the appeal of the caves will be implemented soon.
Presentation and Participation Information
Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Gülengül Mermer reported that the congress will last for 3 days and that a total of 318 papers from Turkey and abroad have been accepted.
Events and Closing
Mustafa Latif Emek, President of the Institute of Economic Development and Social Research, also touched upon the importance of the event, while the program continued with Caucasian folk dance performances and a concert by the department of musicology.
