Diyarbakır's First Kurdish Women's Economy Magazine Published

Prepared by the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Women's Council, the first Kurdish women's economy magazine, Jin û Kar, has been published with the aim of making women's struggle in economic life visible.

Magazine Launch Held

The introduction of the first issue of the magazine Jin û Kar – Women and Economy, prepared by the DTSO Business Women's Council with the philosophy of 'Multiplying with Courage and Determination, Strengthening with Solidarity,' has taken place.

At the meeting held at the Gastro Innovation Center, it was explained that the magazine aims to make visible the struggles, accumulations, and experiences of women in economic life.

Meaningful Dedication and Institutional Memory

The first issue of the published magazine was dedicated to the memory of Nevin İl, Ferda Cemiloğlu, and Şemsa Özar, who are known for their significant contributions to the women's struggle.

Filiz Ekingen, President of the DTSO Business Women's Council, stated that they aimed to transform the achievements gained since the council's establishment and the resulting institutional memory into a permanent archive.

Area of Solidarity and Inspiration

Arzu Sunar, a member of the DTSO Business Women's Council, expressed that the magazine is not merely a publication telling the stories of women in the business world.

Sunar emphasized that the goal is to create a strong area of solidarity where women draw strength from one another, share their experiences, and pave new paths together.

Labor is Made Visible

Taking the floor at the meeting, DEM Party Amed Deputy Adalet Kaya stated that this work, which makes visible women's labor that has been attempted to be erased from history and rendered invisible, is extremely valuable.
