Majority of China's population can quickly access healthcare services
According to the State Council Information Office of China, thanks to the nationwide extensive health network, the vast majority of the public can access treatment opportunities within minutes.
At a press conference on "Healthy China" held by the State Council Information Office of China, it was reported that the world's largest healthcare system has been established in the country, and more than 90 percent of the population can reach the nearest healthcare service within 15 minutes.
Dimensions of the Healthcare System
More than 1.1 million health and medical institutions operate across China. Thanks to this extensive network, more than 90 percent of the country's population can reach the nearest healthcare service point within 15 minutes.
Future Plans
Over the next five years, it is aimed that more people will be able to access healthcare services close to their homes and receive quality treatment. In this direction, efforts to develop a high-quality, efficient, and comprehensive healthcare service system will be accelerated.
Child Health Services
As part of the continuation of last year's efforts, 1,000 more neighborhood health service centers and township health institutions providing child health services will be put into operation this year. By the end of the year, it is projected that more than 95 percent of township health institutions and neighborhood centers will be in a position to provide child health services.
Personnel and Family Supports
3,100 pediatricians have been assigned to work in primary healthcare institutions. In addition, it has been announced that measures will be taken to increase kindergarten enrollment rates and reduce the costs of childbirth, child-rearing, and education for families.
