Ministry of Health Issues School Season and Screen Time Warning to Families
The ministry provided guidance to families for the mental health and daily routines of students adapting to the school process after the summer break.
With the end of the summer vacation, the Ministry of Health has issued critical warnings to families regarding screen use and sleep routines in order to facilitate children's adaptation to the return-to-school process.
Adaptation to the Return-to-School Process
Readapting to changing daily routines and responsibilities following the summer vacation can be challenging for students. The ministry drew attention to the guiding role of families in helping them get through this transition period more easily.
Mental Health and Screen Limits
It is necessary to look after not only children's academic success but also their mental health. It is recommended to limit screen use so that it does not disrupt daily life, and to determine rules gradually without being overly restrictive.
Alternative Activities and Family Rules
In order to reduce the time children spend in front of screens, it is important to direct them to alternative activities such as sports, music, art, and various hobbies. Screens should not be used during meals and times spent together as a family.
Pre-Sleep Precautions and Comparison Warning
Care should be taken to stop screen use at least 30 to 60 minutes before sleep, and electronic devices should be removed from the bedroom. Furthermore, it was emphasized that children should not be compared with other children.
