The Medical Examination and Treatment Management Department under the Ministry of Health sent an urgent document to provincial and city health departments requesting increased inspections at private healthcare facilities.

Serious Allegations of Irregularities

Investigations revealed that some multi-specialty clinics abused testing procedures, operated outside their authorized scope, and fabricated illnesses to extort money.

Cases Subject to Legal Action

Regarding the Phuong Do International Multi-Specialty Clinic in Hai Phong, legal proceedings have been initiated against 19 defendants for fraud and fabricating illnesses to extort money.

Scope and Criteria of Inspections

The inspections will examine business licenses, whether facilities remain within their licensed specialties, and whether they have abused paraclinical procedures.

Public Disclosure of Violations

The list of healthcare facilities that violate regulations, have their activities suspended, or have their licenses revoked will be shared with the public.

Important Considerations for Patients

Patients are advised to ask their doctors about the reasons for diagnoses and tests before undergoing expensive procedures, and to check the facility's license and the doctors' qualifications.
