The Ministry of Health has taken action following allegations that cancer patients at E Hospital were forced to insert money into their medical records to receive radiotherapy more quickly.

The Medical Examination and Treatment Administration Department of the Ministry of Health has urgently requested the verification of allegations that cancer patients placed money in their logs to speed up the radiotherapy process at E Hospital in Hanoi.

Allegations in the Press

It was reported that cancer patients at E Hospital had to add amounts ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 VND into their medical records in order to receive accelerated radiotherapy.

Official Request from the Ministry

The Medical Examination and Treatment Administration Department of the Ministry of Health requested the hospital director to investigate the content published in the press and take necessary actions if any violations occurred.

The hospital is mandated to disclose the investigation results to the public and report them to the relevant department before September 15.

Inspection and Oversight Activities

The Ministry has requested the strengthening of inspections regarding the fulfillment of professional duties assigned across the hospital's departments.

Patient Waiting Times and Nature of Allegations

It is stated that daily waiting times are exhausting for patients undergoing cancer treatment, and this practice was carried out to secure an earlier queue number.
