Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Launches Health Screening in Rural Neighborhoods

Within the scope of the "We Are in the Field for Health" project implemented by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, health teams consisting of specialist physicians, physiotherapists, psychologists, and dietitians provide screening and information services to citizens in rural neighborhoods.

Project Launched During Public Health Week

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality officially launched the "We Are in the Field for Health" project in Gökpınar Neighborhood, attached to the Menteşe district, on the occasion of September 3-9 Public Health Week.

Activities Carried Out in Gökpınar Neighborhood

Fifty-eight people attended the meeting in Gökpınar Neighborhood, and blood sugar and blood pressure measurements were performed for all participating citizens.

Citizens whose measurement results showed high values were referred to relevant health institutions for further examination and treatment.

Health Meeting in Esençay Neighborhood

At the meeting held in Esençay Neighborhood, the second stop of the project, 67 citizens participated and listened to the presentations of the health teams.

In this neighborhood as well, blood sugar and blood pressure measurements of all participants were taken, and their health conditions were checked on-site.

Information Provided by Experts

During the neighborhood meetings, specialist physicians, physiotherapists, psychologists, and dietitians informed citizens on topics such as heat stroke, fall risk, stroke, family communication, and proper nutrition.

Future Stops and Goals of the Project

While it was stated that the third stop of the "We Are in the Field for Health" project will be Çayboyu neighborhood, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras stated that they aim to provide equal healthcare services across all 574 neighborhoods.
