Parliamentary Questions Left Unanswered in Turkish Parliament: Ministry of Health Ranks First

Yeni Party Bursa MP Dr. Kayıhan Pala announced that the executive branch systematically fails to answer parliamentary questions in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), with the Ministry of Health ranking first among ministries.

Legislative and Oversight Activities

Yeni Party Bursa MP Dr. Kayıhan Pala shared with the public the details of a study report covering the three-year period between June 2023 and August 2026.

MP Pala stated that he carried out a total of 452 legislative and oversight activities during the past three years.

Stance of the Executive Branch

Dr. Kayıhan Pala stated that under the Presidential Government System, the executive branch renders MPs' fundamental oversight tools dysfunctional and that questions are intentionally left unanswered.

Drawing attention to the fact that this situation within Parliament has turned into a structural and systematic crisis, Pala noted that they are following up on the process.

Situation of the Ministry of Health

It was reported that the Ministry of Health ranks at the top of the institutions that make the fewest responses or fail to answer written parliamentary questions submitted to the Assembly.

It was stated that the issue was also brought to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Presidency through a parliamentary question in order to resolve these disruptions.

Problems in the Healthcare System

Arguing that healthcare policies implemented across Turkey have lost their public character, Pala stated that preventive medicine practices are also gradually weakening.

Emphasizing that inspection mechanisms remain inadequate throughout the sector, the MP shared his party's alternative solution proposals on this issue.
